THE CHIMERA EXPERIMENT
This is a 12 week programme which is split into 3 blocks. There are 3 training sessions per week, all of which are whole body routines. At least one day of rest is scheduled between sessions and every 4th week is programmed as a light week.
There is a strength maintenance element which continues throughout, but the main emphasis is on power. This starts with strength/speed and progresses to speed/strength.
There is enough variety within the programme for it to benefit athletes from the vast majority of team sports. Acceleration and change of direction will particularly benefit from this dedicated block of explosive training.
It is recommended that this programme is completed by those that have previously completed at least one block of strength training directly prior to beginning.
